Battle plan: Waking Nightmares
Before the battle, divide the battlefield into quarters, then, players roll off and the winner determines which quarter of the battlefield is NIGHTMARISH. The other player then decides if the Nightmare will rotate counterclockwise or clockwise.
Fighters wholly or partially in the Nightmarish quarter of the battlefield are having visions of horror. They have -1 toughness, but abilities they use are treated as if the dice value is 1 higher.
At the end of each battle round, score 1 victory point for each quarter of the battlefield in which you meet the conditions below. The Nightmarish quarter is worth an additional pt for each condition.
* Have 1 or more fighters wholly within that quarter.
* Have taken down a fighter with an attack action or ability while standing wholly within that quarter.
Jump Scare - Whenever a fighter moves and makes a melee attack in the same activation, their controller scores 1 victory point if the target has not yet activated. Each player can only score this condition once per battle round.
A margin of victory of 5 or greater is a major victory.
A margin of 4 or less is a minor victory.
