The ancient gates simply stood there - looming and inert - as if awaiting a new master.

OBJECTIVES

The four objectives shown on the deployment map are Locked at the start of the battle.

A fighter within 1” of a Locked objective can unlock it as an action. That fighter is now carrying treasure and the objective is now Unlocked for the rest of the battle. If a fighter that cannot carry treasure unlocks an objective, that fighter immediately drops that treasure as a bonus action.

All fighters have access to the following ability unless they have the monster runemark:

[Double] Leap of Faith: A fighter can only use this ability if they are within 3” of an Unlocked objective. Remove this fighter from the battlefield and immediately set them up anywhere on the battlefield within 3” of a different Unlocked objective, and more than 2” from all enemy fighters. Then allocate a number of damage points to that fighter equal to 6 minus the value of the ability.

PRIMARY
At the end of each battle round, each player scores 1 victory point:
If they control any fighters carrying treasure.
If they control two or more fighters carrying treasure.
If they control more fighters carrying treasure than their opponent.

SECONDARY
The Key Hungers: The first time in a battle round that a fighter is taken down within 3” of a treasure token or a fighter that is carrying treasure, the opponent of that fighter’s controlling player scores 2 victory points.
Designers note: The trigger for The Key Hungers will occur if the fighter who is taken down is themselves carrying treasure.

TWIST
The Way is Shut!: After the initiative phase each battle round, if one player has fewer victory points, that player can pick an Unlocked objective. That objective is Locked until the end of the battle round and cannot be looted.

VICTORY
The battle ends after 4 battle rounds. The player with the most victory points wins the battle. Any other result is a draw.
